Reflexology Courses

The London School of Reflexology will help you start your new career as a Reflexologist and you will be trained to the highest standard. This means your chances of a new successful career will be greater and your reflexology skills along with the holistic approach to health will give you the expertise and knowledge to help more people.

Our courses are held on a weekend once a month at Regents University, Inner Circle Regents Park. On successful completion you will be able to start your career as a fully qualified Reflexologists and practice professionally in private practice, with the NHS, set up your own practice, work in a complementary group practice or corporate environment.

Reflexology is a complementary therapy that involves a pressure technique using the thumbs and fingers on the reflex areas found in the feet and hands. Reflexology is extremely effective and is based on the principle that reflexes in the feet and hands correspond to each organ and structure in the body, and are linked to those organs by energy channels, zones or meridians. When illness occurs in the body, the corresponding energy channels become blocked, and Reflexology is applied to destroy these blockages, allowing the energy to flow freely again, so restoring the body's natural balance and therefore good health.

The beginnings of Reflexology are to be found in the ancient Chinese and Japanese healing arts of acupressure and massage. These ancient skills were researched and developed in 1913 by an American ear, nose and throat specialist, Dr William Fitzgerald, who was using zone therapy, as he called it, on his patients and produced amazing results. Dr Fitzgerald discovered that pressure on one part of the body could have an anaesthetising effect within another unrelated area. By placing pegs on certain areas of his patient's fingers, Dr Fitzgerald discovered that pain could be relieved in their eyes, nose, sinuses, ears or jaw. He went on to develop a

theory that divided the body into ten vertical zones ending in the fingers and toes, and concluded that pressure on one part of a zone could affect anything else within that zone. So we can treat, for example, spinal problems, digestive disorders, hormonal related conditions, non-invasively because we can access every organ through its own specific reflex area on the foot. Any congestion in any part of the body whether it is an old problem or a new condition will be felt in the reflexes. By applying pressure on specific areas we can help relieve and control pain and discomfort that has been suffered by someone for possible years.

As a student of the London School of Reflexology, you will learn how to use the holistic approach to health. Our work may complement traditional medicine however, it can often have incredible results as a 'tailor-made' therapy that would be developed for each individual and as a stand-alone treatment. We can use Reflexology, diet, exercise, lifestyle and attitude to life to stimulate the self-healing powers of the body.

We believe in prevention rather than cure and how we can use reflexology along with what we put into and onto our body and lifestyle to help reach optimum health. The course inspires you to look at many aspects of modern living, the impact it has on our mental and physical health and to consider practical healthier options. We will teach you the best way to structure your reflexology treatments and adapt them to suit each individuals needs to help get better results. We believe that with this view we can plant a seed of health which with careful nurturing will be passed on not only to those we train but every person they treat. We hope that you can use reflexology to help those you treat find their own natural rhythm again and promote the body, mind and soul to work in harmony with each other.
