Reflexology Training

ITEC LEVEL 3 DIPLOMA IN REFLEXOLOGY

The London School of Reflexology is the UK's largest, longest established and most recommended reflexology school in the United Kingdom. We are dedicated to offering you the best quality training in Reflexology to prepare you for your professional practice, so why settle for less?

Your qualification will allow you to join all of the leading Reflexology organizations in the UK and also give you access to many across the world!

Most of the students who enrol on our course come from very different backgrounds with little or no knowledge in Reflexology. You will be taught Reflexology from basics to professional practitioner level. The course is underpinned with the holistic approach to health, foods that heal, environmental and lifestyle health issues and self-development.

Our course inspires you to look at many aspects of modern living; the impact it has on our mental and physical health and to consider practical healthier options. We will teach you the best way to structure your reflexology treatments and adapt them to suit each individual’s needs to help get better results. We believe that with this perspective we can plant a seed of health which with careful nurturing will be passed on not only to those we train but every person they treat. We hope that you can use reflexology to help those you treat find their own natural rhythm again and promote the body, mind and soul to work in harmony with each other.

Your government-recognised qualification

The qualification you will be awarded when successfully passing our course is currently ITEC Level 3 Diploma in Reflexology . ITEC and our previous awarding body ABC Awards are leading awarding bodies that maintain vocational qualifications on behalf of the government and OFQUAL, and your qualification is legitimate, government-recognised and designed to lead to employment as a reflexologist.

On successful completion you can register with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) the UK voluntary regulator for complementary healthcare; the Department of Health recommends only CNHC-registered therapists. You will also be able to join all the government-recognised complementary therapy associations and can get client referrals through these associations as well as through the school’s Reflexology Agency. Additionally, you can also join the NHS Register of Reflexologists, which is used by the Primary Care Trusts.

Our professional qualifications are recognized by all the leading complementary Health Associations including: Association of Reflexologist, Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC), The Federation of Holistic Therapists, ITEC, Awarding Body Consortium, The Institute of Complementary Medicine (ICM), Association of Complementary Therapists (ACT), Professional Reflexologist (PT), Complementary Therapists Association (CTha). Your qualification will be recognised by some of the major health insurance providers and member clients can reclaim the cost of seeing you for Reflexology treatment.

Best Quality Training

Our Principal, Louise Keet, is known as "Britain's leading Reflexology practitioner" (Mail on Sunday); she is the author of the best seller Reflexology Bible, and no-one can surpass her knowledge and experience. Louise will be teaching you to the highest standard, developing your confidence, offering individual attention and expert tuition to ensure that you have the best quality Reflexology training. Our Reflexology classes are enjoyable and the lectures and course materials informative, easy to digest and understand.

You will be offered encouragement for your practical and written assessments and we will build on your skills to help you gain the confidence and knowledge in order to complete your course and become a successful practitioner in Reflexology. Students will be required to find their own people to practice on and complete treatment records during the course. We do work with some UK charities and can on occasion find placements. All level 3 diploma’s in reflexology require 100 documented treatments and generally offered to a minimum of 18 people. It will be amazing to see how many people you help along the way whilst building your career in reflexology. I don't believe you have to be better than everybody else. I believe you have to be better than you ever thought you could be.

I don't believe you have to be better than everybody else. I believe you have to be better than you ever thought you could be.

Our courses give you the opportunity to begin a new career in Reflexology as well as to help family and friends. The courses are suitable for all, regardless of educational background, medical experience, nationality, or qualifications. Many of our students are looking for a change in career or want to develop a new path for themselves, perhaps after having had a family. You are never too old to set goals, create new causes and embrace life with a new sense of purpose. Some students study with us to make a difference to the lives of the ones they love. However, sometimes what they learn on the course (and about themselves) surprises them and they find their journey takes them into a new career.

This course is not full time. You will attend the school approximately one weekend a month, so you can study alongside a full-time job, a busy family and a social life. We have had over twenty years’ experience in teaching Reflexologists so we can help make your learning experience rewarding, fun and interesting.

The original method of Reflexology was developed in the 1930s by Eunice Ingham, the 'Mother of Reflexology'. Today, most western Reflexology is based on the 'Ingham Method'. Through many years of professional practice and teaching, we have developed and refined this method to help you achieve more precise and effective outcomes for your clients. We have also developed a technique for you to use that better protects your hands, which can help prepare you to give up to nine treatments a day!

You will explore the different theories of how Reflexology works and how this fascinating therapy developed over the years. You will discover the major contributors to Reflexology, how different techniques are used around the world, and how you can make your own contribution to the future of Reflexology.

During our practical sessions you will learn to give treatments under the supervision of Louise Keet and be expertly guided by her through each element of the technique and sequence, so that you achieve an excellent standard of work. Additionally, you will be able to experience the benefits as a client from the regular Reflexology treatments that you receive in class. At a later stage in the course you will work on clients within a supervised 'practice' environment.

We aim to support you both during and after the course and will give you the help and advice you need. We offer a free back-up service and advice line so that you can keep in touch with us during and after the course and receive the best advice for your new career. Some graduates are invited to become postgraduate helpers and are given the opportunity to learn teaching skills and the basics of running a course. Our ABC courses can offer a time extension on the principal's discretion, however it will have to be completed within one year of the final examination.

As a student at the London School of Reflexology you will be entitled to join the Association of Reflexologists as a Student Member, which offers benefits including legal and tax advice, low cost insurance, access to local events/exhibitions and a supply of exhibition packs. Having the right professional backing can help you to build your successful career in reflexology.

Examinations

This is a great opportunity to show off your hard work and demonstrate your understanding of how the body works and the best ways to approach, apply and evaluate a reflexology treatment so you have the skills and confidence to do the best for your clients and yourself. You have a practical exam and an anatomy theory paper where you will have fifty multiple choice questions and the pass mark is 50%.  We recommend around six hours of home study a week to complete your case studies, theory study and assignments. You have two assignments to complete. One will be focused on how the complementary and alternative health sector works and how we can manage and support our clients professionally and responsibly with referrals as well as providing a good understanding of other CAM therapies. Your full business day is inspiration and insightful and supports your second assignment on developing a successful career. This will provide the opportunity to develop your business acumen, identify target markets, USP’s, cost effective promotional material marketing strategies and help your reflexology business succeed.  You are required to attend the exam date set for your group and ask you keep the date available.  At the end of the course, you will sit a 1-hour practical exam where Reflexology techniques, as well as client care and standards of hygiene, will be assessed. You will also need to submit documented evidence of having given 100 treatments.

Our students build up a client base during their course at the encouragement of Louise, so the goal is to complete the course with a professional diploma and begin being your own boss with a ready-made list of paying clients!

It is important to choose the right school and the right qualification. Our Level 3 Diploma is designed to give you access into a new career as a Reflexologist by giving you the skills and knowledge to treat clients with confidence and help build up your client base when you are on the course.
