Reflexology Theory
You will explore the different theories of how Reflexology works and the development of this fascinating therapy over the years. We will look at the major contributors to Reflexology and how the different techniques are used around the world. We will also outline what contributions we can make to the future of Reflexology and how we, as individuals, can make our mark within this growing therapy, within the field of research as well as a practitioner.

Reflexology Practical
During our practical sessions you can expect to give treatments under the supervision of your tutors who will expertly guide and encourage you through each element of the technique and sequence, so you achieve an excellent standard. Additionally you will be able to experience the benefits as a client from regular Reflexology treatments you receive in class. At a later stage in the course you will work on clients with challenging conditions within a supervised clinical environment.

Diet and Nutrition
We can never underestimate the influence diet has on our health. If someone came up with a pill to protect us from disease we would all take it. However most people find it difficult to eat five portions of fruit and vegetables each day.

In this element of the course we cover diet and nutrition within a range of practical and stimulating topics. For example, the influences of synthetic oestrogen's on the falling fertility rate, and how diet and Reflexology can increase a couples chance of conceiving. We will learn how a range of conditions can be helped with everyday foods, for example; If a client with cystitis eats blueberries it can prevent bacteria from staying on the lining of the bladder. Did you know tomatoes can help prevent prostate problems and celery can even help reduce high blood pressure.

   

Anatomy and Physiology
We will provide you with a comprehensive and simple framework in which you can understand the fascinating workings of the human body. This element of the course will involve both class tuition and home study. Studying each of the human body systems you will learn about the functions of all the organs and parts of the body. In applied physiology we will go into more depth and concentrate on various conditions and how different lifestyles can influence the onset and development of diseases. You will also learn about the causes and damaging effects of stress and how to treat stress related conditions. We will focus on the most effective way to treat a person and understand how to meet their needs using both the holistic approach to health and Reflexology.
